We signed Gracelyn up for some swim lessons at our local YMCA this summer, and she had her first lesson last week. Ummmm, let's just say that she was slightly less than ecstatic about being in the pool. For one thing, the water was so cold that even Daddie was shivering (all the while, trying unsuccessfully to convince Gracelyn that the water was nice and warm)! They practiced making bubbles (Gracelyn's better at doing that with her butt than her mouth), kicking their legs, jumping into the pool, and floating on their backs. We've had a few lessons since then, and Gracelyn seems to be getting more and more comfortable each time. Who knows, maybe by the end of the program, she'll be able to teach Mommie a thing or two about swimming!!

Way to go Gracie! We can do laps together next month.
We're tentatively planning on going to Santa Cruz this weekend to hang out on the beach. The water won't be anywhere close to as warm as it is in Hawaii, but at least we can play in the sand!!
