Last night, Judd, Gracelyn and I spent the evening with Kendric, Trish, their dog Lumps, and their turtle (who goes by the clever name of "Turtle"). Their friends Mike, Lynn and Justin were also there. We all watched UFC and grubbed on Kendric's delicious spaghetti and asparagus. A good time was had by all. Judd sampled a new beer "Cedar Mountain Lager"; it was not endorsed by Kendric - he just had it in his fridge, left over from a previous gathering. According to Judd, Cedar Mountain Lager is a "no-go". On a more positive note, I was introduced to the best tasting $6 champagne ever - too bad the name escapes me now! Gracelyn amused herself by banging her hands on the coffee table, poking her finger into Lumps' little nose, and spitting up all over the carpet. Although she had a tough time napping in an unfamiliar room, the BG (short for "baby girl" or "Baby Gracelyn") was a trooper, flashing her adorable smile for everyone right up to the end of the night.
The big fight of the night was Liddel vs. Ortiz. We all agreed that the fight was called too early (a TKO in the third round) since it seemed like Ortiz was still defending himself. He had taken a pretty tough beating, though. So, Liddel is still the UFC champion.
In other news, the Pac-10 is looking rather sorry in their bowl games this year. We've only got two wins under our belts, thanks to the ass-whooping the Cal Bears (GO BEARS!!) dealt out to Texas A&M on Thursday (45-10) and the two-point conversion that won the game for Oregon State against Missouri (39-38). As much as we don't like USC, here's hoping they'll come to the game tomorrow ready to win the Rose Bowl. The Pac-10 definitely needs to salvage what's left of it's dignity and at least walk away with a 3-3 record for bowl games. Never thought I'd say this, but "Go Trojans"...
